Sock January - Janeiro em meias - Free Patterns

I haven't published anything for a while, but that doesn't mean that I have been working and quite efficiently, I might add. I've declared this new month of January as the official month of socks! Soft, warm, easy knitted socks. However, I must confess that I don't have the time nor the patience to work with small gauges, yarns or needles. So, when choosing a sock pattern, I personally need to consider two things: how quickly can they be finished and what type of yarn can be used. I tend to opt for a gauge no smaller than 5 st/in and, having these two conditions in mind, I've come across some cool patterns that I would like to share with you.

Não publico nada há já algum tempo, mas isso não quer dizer que não tenha andado a trabalho e de forma muito eficiente, devo acrescentar. Decidi declarar este novo mês de Janeiro como o mês oficial das meias! Meias em tricot macias, quentes e fáceis. No entanto, tenho de confessar que não tenho nem tempo nem paciência para trabalhar com amostras pequenas, fios pequenos ou agulhas pequenas. Portanto, quando tenho de escolher um modelo, pessoalmente tenho de considerar duas coisas: quanto tempo vou demorar a terminar o projecto e que tipo de fio posso usar. Tento optar por uma amostra nunca inferior a 5 malhas por 2,5 cm e, tendo estas duas condições em mente, encontrei alguns modelos que gostaria de partilhar convosco.

For babies/toddlers - Para bebés

Com um fio para agulhas de 5/5,5 (worsted) e agulhas de 3.75, este modelo produz meias para bebés super-rápiadas e super-giras. Disponível no link em cima (em PDF e inglês).

For Dudes - Para Gajos

Again, using worsted yarn and 4 mm needles, this was the pattern I chose to knitted some socks for Big J. Find the pattern here: Woolies.

Novamente, com um fio para agulhas de 5/5,5 (worsted) e agulhas de 4 mm, este foi o modelo que escolhi para tricotar meias para o Big J. O melhor? Disponível em português aqui: Wollies.

For the ladies - Para as senhoras

This pattern calls for 4-ply or Fingering yarn, but since the yarn is held double and the socks are knit on 4 mm needles, the gauge produced is acceptable (19 st and 25 rw = 4 in in st. They look like they will be quick to knit, so I'm dying to take the pattern for a test drive. Find the pattern here: Foggy.

Este modelo precisa de fios para agulhas de 2,5-3,5, mas como é para dobrar o fio e como as meias são tricotadas em agulhas de 4, a amostra produzida é aceitável (19 malhas e 25 carreiras = 10 cm in ponto de jersey). Têm pinta de serem rápidas, portanto, estou mortinha por fazer o test drive do modelo. Disponível em português aqui: Foggy.
